"Our coaches are not only highly qualified but have many years of experience. It is our philosophy that coaches should be humanitarians. They should care about the athlete as a person first and athlete second."
Richard Kelly – Owner
Richard has always been involved in strength and conditioning both as a career as well as to develop his rugby ability. He started as a fitness manager at one of the largest fitness club in south africa (The H&R Club) at a branch in Durban which he did while he was pursuing his rugby career.
Richard started his sports career as a professional rugby union player however through injury he retired early which led him to coaching rugby union and continuing his journey in the fitness industry then later martial arts which led him to getting his black belt in karate. In 2011 after another knee injury Richard longed for group type training when he found CrossFit which Richard owes his successful and speedy recovery. He found Crossfit Durban and started his journey under trainer Andy Craig. Richard is a real believer in the passion and strong community that comes with the crossfit culture. He has competed in the crossfit open since 2011 and also went to the Africa regional as team member of CrossFit Durb’s.
The family moved to Australia where Richard continued his training and competing in CrossFit. He affiliated CrossFit 4566 in January 2016 and runs both adults classes and a strong crossfit kids program. for more information contact Richard on info@crossfit4566.com
